Thankful...
So I have heard that the more thankful a person is the more they receive. Not too sure why or how that works but I find it very interesting. Maybe it is because you are so thankful that you don't notice what you’re missing so that makes you feel like you have a lot? Or is it because being thankful creates an energy that attracts more things into your life? One thing I do know is that I have noticed the more thankful I am the more I have. I once was reading something from The Secret by Rhonda Byrne and it Said that every day make a list of at least 10 things you are truly thankful for and it is supposed to bring more into your life. So here is my list...
1. My Mom-I am definitely thankful for her. She has been a shoulder to learn on, a friend when I needed one, a soldier protecting me from danger and someone I can turn to when life is difficult.
2. Definitely God. He has and always will be there for me. I’m thankful that he has been there for me even though I have not really been there for him.
3. My Dad- I’m thankful that he has been such a loving and caring father. He has provided me with so much. Every time and anytime I needed something all I had to do was give him a call and he would be there to help me out.
4. My Health- I’m thankful that I am able to get out of bed in the morning and walk. I can't even imagine how life would be if I was un-healthy.
5. My Friends-I am thankful for each and every one of them. They have all been there for me in one way or another and my life would be so much different without them.
6. My Brothers and Sisters- I'm thankful to have so many of them. Every time we all get together I have so much fun and I love visiting and getting to know everyone of them. My life would be so much different if I didn’t have them. I am so thankful for them.
7. Nature-I am thankful for the sense of peace it gives me. It’s crazy how beautiful it is. I can't even fathom how God could have created something so amazing for us to see. So many people take the beauty of nature for granted.
8. Education- I'm thankful for the fact that I can go to school to educate myself and increase my knowledge. Everything ever created was started with an Idea that was sparked with knowledge.
9. Work- I am thankful for my job. There are so many people that do not have a job. They cannot support themselves much less their families. I’m thankful to have a job when times are hard.
10. Life- I'm thankful for life. For the way things have turned out. For all the struggles that have made me who I am. For everything that life ever threw in my way. Life is incredible.
I could add so much more to this list. Once you get started on writing this list it is hard to stop.
Go ahead and give it a try. Write out what your thankful for ever day before you go to bed and you will see a huge improvement in your life. The list doesn’t have to be like mine. You can write down whatever comes to your mind. Whether it be single words or sentences or long paragraphs.
One last thing, I definitely recommend reading the Secret as I was talking about before. Its an incredible book with so much insight on how to live life. What’s even better is the movie, The Secret. I watched it and it was life changing. I also have The Secret Audio CD, you fall asleep to it at night and it helps you have a positive outlook onlife.
